MySQL stopped running due to improper shutdown or abrupt close of the query. To start the MySQL service, please use the following reasons and solutions.<\/p>\n

  1. MySQL not start due to existing lock file<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    # servicemysql status<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    MySQL is not running, but lock file (\/var\/lock\/subsys\/mysql[FAILED]<\/p>\n

    Above command will shows that the MYSQL is not running. We have ran following command to remove the lock file.<\/p>\n

    # rm \/var\/lock\/subsys\/mysql<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Then, we restarted the MySQL service using the following command:<\/p>\n

    # servicemysqld restart<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    This fixed the error.<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. MySQL stops running if tables crashed<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      The other reason for this error to occur is due to the database tables crashing. Normally, the following message displays in the MySQL error logs.<\/p>\n

      MyISAM-table ‘\/var\/lib\/mysql\/dbname\/table_name.MYI’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired<\/p>\n

      We can fix this problem by repairing the database and the database tables using the below commands:<\/p>\n

      # myisamchk<database><server><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

      # mysqlcheck -r <database><postname><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

      Restart the MySQL service using the command.<\/p>\n

      # servicemysqld restart<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

      Now MySQL will started.<\/p>\n
